It is not what goes in the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person. Matthew 15:11 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
There are so many things to do when a person is getting ready for a new baby to come, new baby clothes to be washed, folded and put away. The bassinet being set up with all of its beautiful array of blue, and getting everything organized so everything fits in one room for the time being. This is the easiest part of it all, but trying to get the "little, big brother" used to sleeping in his own crib is another story.
These babies are so smart, they know when the lullaby music comes on, soother is placed in the mouth, what is coming next, then the fun begins. The crib mobile is singing it's soft little chirping music, stars are reflecting off the walls and ceiling, baby is placed in the crib thinking it's a game until mommy says "It's sleepy time, lays him down and motions for the door as the crying begins.
Several trips back and forth to the bedroom by mama and mimi, to let little "love bug" know that we are both here, it's okay it's sleepy time for baby. The crying did not seem to be full blast crying, but it lasted longer than what he and we were used to. It wasn't until after quite some time had passed, that he wasn't going to go to sleep, when mama went into bring him out of the crib, that is when she saw that he had made himself sick from his little crying. That was enough for one day, so as he came out of the room, Mimi said, "We'll try again next time."
Oh my goodness girlfriends, I had forgotten how much work and time consuming these little ones can be, while trying to get your own things done in the process. This is what this Mimi will be looking at in a few days, as mama is waiting to have her second little bundle of sweetness in the next few days.
You know, this is the simplest little description of our key verse, it was the baby's soother or maybe even his fingers that was a bad thing or defiling, but the combination of the fingers and the crying is what brought up the vile from the stomach, that we found in his bed that wasn't so nice.
There are so many scriptures in the Bible about being careful of what we are putting into our minds, into our bodies, that is what can create corrupt things that can happen. If a person eats too many things that are not good for them, what do you think can be the end result...overweight, maybe heart problems, diabetes is usually a big part of it, breathing problems could take place, different organs can be affected. Drinking too much pop that is full of sugar, eventually it will affect your body, drinking alcohol can wreak havoc on the organs, which we as Christians are warned in the Bible for this not to be a part of our lives.
Prov. 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. If we are living for the Lord, we will love His word, His direction that He has for us to go, because it will lead us to life eternal. Back in Psalm 141:3 the scripture tells us, "Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!" There may be times in a certain situation that we might want to say something towards someone that might not be quite the right or pleasant words to say, so we may need a little strength from the Lord not to say things that would not words He would want us to speak. Prov. 21:23 tells us that whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from trouble.
In everything, we have a choice in the words that we speak and the actions or things that we do, we have a choice to do or not to do. Matthew 12:37 says, "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." We can all attest to that if we speak to someone in conversation and it gets a little heated, that a soft answer will turn away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger, (Prov. 15:1) we have been in situations at some point in time right? Prov. 16:24 tells us, "Gracious words are like honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body." "A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit." (Prov. 15:4) Prov. 17:27 also reminds that, "Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding." This is the kind of person, we who are followers of Christ should be.
God also reminds us that what ever we speak out of our mouth, God hears but so does the enemy. So if we speak out negative, harsh words the enemy has grounds or rights to act on them in which is spoken out. Isaiah 55:11 is a reminder of one of God's promises, that if we declare God's word, speak it out of our mouth, "So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth, it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (ESV)
Girlfriends, God's word is so clear that what we put in is what will come out of us, so therefore it is important for each one of us to meditate (read His word) on it day and night, so that we may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then we will make our way prosperous, and then we will have good success, Amen, Amen!
Let's Pray,
Father God, Thank you for this glorious sunshine that is warming up the atmosphere today. I also thank you for Your Son who warms the atmosphere of my heart. Lord, help each and every one of us to only speak out what your word says to us, let only your kind, gentle, uplifting words be on our lips when speaking to others that we see each day. Help us to continue to speak in this way even when we are face in some very difficult situations. Let us always remember that a kind and gentle word as a response will turn away an argument from erupting, and we thank you for your strength in doing so in the Mighty name of Jesus. In a situation of confrontation, let our words be only what is spoken in Your word in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Be blessed sweet girlfriends, and pass the blessings on. Thank you for passing this message on in hopes that it will bless others.
