Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. Revelation 3:2-3 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Have you ever been there, you're in a deep sleep dreaming, snuggled down under the covers not wanting to come to, or you are having a hard time coming out of that deep sleep. You realize you have to force yourself awake because if you don't , that person that has to catch the bus, you do not hear their footsteps moving around getting ready for their day.
Up you come staggering up the hall, not fully awake yourself, only to find that little person that needs to be ready for the bus to make it to school, is still all snuggled down in their deep sleep.
Each night when I am getting myself ready for bed, I ask the Lord to let me wake up with a new word to speak about, whatever it is that He wants brought out. This morning as I was coming to, I heard the words "When You Wake Up," I thought for a minute, maybe I was going to hear something else but nothing came.
There were accounts in the Bible where Jesus brought dead people back to life, like He did for Lazarus, but what about the people who were spiritually asleep. Jesus walked among the people, moving from town to town, spreading the good news of Himself, that if people would repent and turn from their ways to follow Him, they would see heaven.
The same is for today, we who carry the light of Jesus, is to share the good news of Him to let others know that they too can receive Jesus when they are willing to turn from their old ways and follow Him, it's as simple as that.
Girlfriends, I'm sure that many of you remember having a grandmother, a mother, an aunt or a friend who would have told you about Jesus when you were growing up, and all of the things He could do for you and that if you wanted to go to heaven, you had to ask Him into your heart. What about the people who have never heard about our Jesus, it's up to us as a mother, an aunt, a grandmother to get out there and share the love of Jesus before it's too late. No one knows the time or the hour in which Jesus will come back but from the signs of the times of what is going on, we can see it is very close at hand. (Romans 13:1)
I think of the people who have heard the gospel message and have not turned to Jesus yet, those are the people I am concerned about. There are many scriptures that tells us to wake up from our sleep such as Ephesians 5:14 says, "For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, "Awake , O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Isaiah 60:1 says, "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you."
Think about it, when you are walking around in your home in the dark, you know right where the lamp is to turn on or where the light switch is to turn on so that you can see, well it is the same as when someone is sharing the gospel to people, Jesus is the light to their darkness. At the end of our key verse God warns us that He will be coming back and if we are not ready, by not living for Him after all the times we have heard the word, received the word, and if we do not wake up to what His word says, it will be too late. Back in Noah's day, it was too late for many people who did not listen to get their lives right, it was only Noah and his family that were saved.
2 Peter 3:9 tells us that "the Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." My question would be to anyone who has heard about the gospel of Jesus Christ and has not yet given your life over to Him, why wait, why put it off another day? Let this day, be the day that you surrender your life to Jesus so that you can make heaven your home when Jesus returns for His people, Amen?
Let's Pray,
Precious Jesus, I thank You and I praise You, for all the people You had put in my life that shared the gospel message to me as I was growing up. Lord, continue to use me to spread the good news of Your love and great salvation plan to those who has never heard your message, but also to be able to continue to share that same message to the dears ones who has not yet surrendered. Lord I declare that as your message continues to go out, that people by the thousands will humble themselves to the realization that they need You in their life in order to make things right before it is too late. Lord, I still pray for many people I know personally, that one day very soon, they too will see the light as the switch finally comes on, and I thank and praise You in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed and pass the blessings on.
