Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. 1 Cor. 11:1 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
A couple of years ago I was at a special service this one night, when the Minister that was going to speak had asked a man to come pray for his diabetes. The man quickly went up to pray for the Minister as it was nearing the end of the service and people were beginning make their way home. A very short time after that night, the man who did the praying for the Minister, he was healed of his diabetes, how amazing was that?
One day as I had rushed into Walmart to pick up a few things with my daughter and her boyfriend, I began talking to a lady in the make-up isle and she was telling me about losing her husband the year before and that same day had been her last day of physio from an injury to her back. My daughter had moved onto another isle to shop as the lady and I continued to talk and shared bits and pieces of things we had been through. I asked her if she would mind if I prayed for her and she agreed. I had layed my hand on her shoulder and prayed over her back and shoulders, I thought it a simple prayer, and when I was done she had told me her pain was completely gone from her back, she said she felt it leave immediately. You can imagine the look on my face, it was a bit of astonishment and excitement for her, as she hugged me and said thank you for taking the time to pray. Now I knew it wasn't me who healed her but it was God himself, but it's all about being willing to put yourself out there when you know someone is huirting or needs help.
Have you ever went in for a coffee or to the mall to go shopping and as you are looking around you notice so many unhappy faces and there seems to be many. Do you notice that one who is limping across the parking lot to get to their car, how about the mother who is trying to juggle the cart load of groceries and her children that are tagging along beside her, what is your first thought that goes through you mind? I have a friend who stops to help these people as an act of kindness, and you should see the look on the peoples faces as their faces will have a smile on them in appreciation.
Girlfriends, I know a man that prayed for many people, a man who helped the sick and the poor, a man that taught people by the thousands, a man who was the demonstrator of many miracles, and that man is Jesus. This man called Jesus, is the one that I want to keep my focus on, He is the man who saves, who delivers and who sets people free from all afflictions, pain, disease. We sang a song in church, "O to be like Jesus." The more we read His word, study it and meditate on His words, we will become more and more like Him because that is where our focus is.
The next time you see that person struggling to walk across the parking lot, ask them if you can give them a hand. The next time a person that you know flashes through your mind, maybe say a little prayer for them, send them a text or pick up the phone and call to say hi. The next time you see someone you know who is struggling with something, come along side of them and give them a hug or offer to pray for them or just sit with them to listen as they talk. As you do these things for others, you will be surprised at the joy that will flood your soul. O to be like Jesus, that is where we want our focus to be, to be more and more like Him, Amen?
Let's Pray,
Precious Jesus, I thank you for who you are. I thank you for every person that is reading this today, whatever day that may be. I lift up every person to you, that may be hurting right now, I'm asking that you would reach down and heal their hurts, and to all those who are disappointed, Lord lift that away from them as they would begin to feel a lightness in their heart. To the one who has been fighting a sickness in your body, I speak the healing power of Jesus to flow through you right now as I speak Psalm 107:20 over you, He sent the word and healed them, that means you. Lord I thank you for what you have done in each person and I thank you in advance for all the things you are going to do in, and for each person, in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Be blessed, and pass the blessings on today and every day.
