You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth. Proverbs 6:2 NKJV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

Over the course of life we hear many words spoken, whether they have been harsh words, or kind words, negative words or positive, words that tear us down or words that lift us up, words that are criticizing or words that are encouraging, we have all spoke them.

Since I have been living my life for the Lord, I have been more conscious of what words come out of my mouth, when a person lives for the Lord they should look different and talk different than the people of who don't know Him yet. Jesus spoke the words, the commandments that God His father spoke to Him, He spoke what God told Him to say. (John 12:49) Jesus spoke kind words to people, He spoke the healing words of God over people, He spoke gentle words over people when He was sharing about the kingdom of God.

There is power in our words that we speak every day, we have the choice to what we will speak out of our mouth in a hard situation, or if we feel tension rising between you and someone else, we have the choice of whether they will be gentle words or harsh words. James 1:19 reminds us that we should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. Before we let words come flying out of our mouth, we should think first of what we will say and then say it in a way that nothing will come back to bite you.

We have the power to speak over our families every day and speak into their lives. To that child who may tend to get on your last nerve, instead of speaking out curse words, harsh words over them, come back in a positive way with words that can change the whole atmosphere and dynamics so that there will be a positive outcome. Always letting that loved one know that you love them no matter the situation, that you will always be there for them, that you will help them work through things, be that gentle, caring and loving voice, speaking out words that you know Jesus would say. Prov. 15:4 says "gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit." Prov. 16:24 says "Kind words are like honey-sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." And Prov. 18:4 says "A person's words can be life-giving water, words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook."

Girlfriends, when we get in the word of God more often we learn what God says about how we are to handle ourselves when situations arise, what Gods words says for us to speak rather than how our flesh may want to handle a situation, we are to say what Gods word says, just as Jesus did when the Scribes were always trying to trip Him up, He only spoke what God told Him to speak and that was it.

Our main verse talks about us being snared by the words of our mouth, it's what we speak out that can come back to bite us so to say, whether it be in a bad way or a good way. We have the choice what words will proceed from our mouth, so let us only speak out what the word of God says. I like what Philippians 4:8-9 says to us, "And now, brothers, as I close this letter let me say this one more thing: fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all the things you can praise God for and be glad about. Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you." Amen!

Let's Pray,

Father God, I lift up the wonderful name of Jesus and I praise Your holy name. Lord, You are our teacher, You are our guide in life and I thank You for teaching us that there is power in our words that we speak. Let us speak words of truth, words of affirmation, words of love, and words of encouragement to one another. Lord, help us to conform what comes out of our mouth to be only words that would be edifying to You, so that we will be glorifying You as our heavenly father. Lord, help us to crucify our flesh each day to only do and say the things that would be pleasing in Your sight in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Be blessed, and pass the blessings on.
