You will be trapped by your words; you will be caught by your words. Proverbs 6:2 Common English Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

These words are truer than true what our key verse is saying, let me explain for a bit. If you have ever had someone come to you and ask you to co-sign a loan for them, just to help them out because maybe they do not have good enough credit to get the loan on their own, so when you sign your name to the papers, you are allowing yourself to be liable for that payment if the person who is taking out the loan does not come good for it or is not able to make the payments. Verse two tells us that you have made yourself trapped by signing the agreement. It continues to tell us in verse three, to get out quick while you can. This means that if you are a person who does not have a lot of money that you can compensate for that loan in which you sign for, it is going to hurt you financially, but if you turn and get out it will like you have saved yourself like a deer would be able to get away from a hunter.

I always wondered why so many of my children's friends used to love coming over to our house after school and on the weekends, but when I think about it, there was always a pretty calm atmosphere. I have always loved children and speaking to them in gentle, kind and loving ways was they way to go. When you think about it, how many children grow up in an environment where there is screaming and yelling going on, with curse words blowing out into the air, it would not be a very calm or inviting environment would it? That's why it says in Proverbs 15:4, "A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit." That makes sense, a family or a place that speaks in gentle, kind and loving ways is like a place of paradise where one would feel like staying, that you could live in a place like that forever, one would not want to leave.

Remember how yesterday that we said that Jesus only said what His father said, He only spoke the words He heard His father say. Jesus never spoke harsh words, or words that were negative or that would hurt a person, He only spoke words of affirmation and words that would heal and help someone. I have heard many people say things like "Oh I love that person to death", or "I'm having a hard time to see, my eyes are blurry." When we say things like this we are releasing these words out into the atmosphere for the enemy to grasp ahold of, because he is waiting for us to mess up with our words so he can take hold of them. It's like we are making an agreement with the devil because these are negative words. Instead we should say it like this, "Oh I just love that person," drop the word death off of it, we don't want to speak death over that person. Instead of saying my eyes are blurry, I'm having a hard time to see, speak the words that Jesus would speak. Speak to your eyes and tell them or command them to line up with the word of God, speak that you can see with clarity and all blurriness must go.

Girlfriends, we do have to be careful of what comes out of our mouths, that why it says in the Bible to be slow to speak, slow means to think about your words before you utter them from your lips. We always want our words to be uplifting, encouraging, affirming and not only to other people but to ourselves as well. This is all a part of taming our tongues, again Prov. 15 says that a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh words stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. We want our words to be kind, and gentle, just think about it, Jesus is watching and listening to us, and don't think there aren't other eyes and ears around us as well, we want to be a good example for others who have not accepted Jesus into their hearts yet. We want to be a good example to our family and friends. Think about it, it will draw people to you if you are an encourager, a kind person, a gentle person, because there does not seem to be a whole lot of that in the world today so we must be the hands, feet and mouth of Jesus wherever we go, Amen?

Let's Pray,

Precious Jesus, I thank You that You are our example to follow, You have went through all the things that we face each day. Lord, help us each day to become more and more like You, in our words, in our actions and our reactions. Lord, help us to tame our tongues when we want to have our say in a certain matter, help us to bite our tongue to only speak out words that will not bite us in the end. Lord, You are our strength and You are our portion and we thank You for directing us in our words that are uttered from our mouth, in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Be blessed, and pass the blessings on.
