No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans, in the storm--I will come to you. John 14:18 New Living Bible
Good Morning Girlfriends:
My thoughts go right back to this young mother with two small girls, that she raised alone most of the time, because her husband left the family time and time again. Tidying up in the girls room, cleaning out the closet, mom found a note from one of her daughters that read, "Daddy why do you always leave us and go live with Grampy?"
Well, you can imagine how that mama felt after reading that note from one of her precious little girls that she loved so much. I remember the mother telling me that she thought carefully about how she would approach her little girl to explain what was happening. This mom who was living for the Lord at this time in her life, reassured her sweet little girl that her mama was right there with her and was not going to leave her, she would always be there to take care of her.
Four years later, after that marriage had ended, had an opportunity to move away to another province to be a live in care taker. One evening as she was explaining this to her girls, she wanted to let them know what was involved, deciding to let her girls think about this move and if it was something they would like to do. The mother knew that she was being led to this new place by God, but she had wanted to give her two girls some time to think about the move, so that could have decide what they would like to do. If they went, they would be with their mom, but if they stayed they would be with their dad.
After giving the girls some time to roll it around in their minds, as they had talked to each other, the day came when their mom sat down with them to ask what their decision would be. When the mom had asked one of her girls, she responded that she was going with her mom, and when she asked the other daughter, there was a look in her eyes of sadness but no reply. Her mother instantly knew what her decision was, she was not going with her mom and sister, she was staying back.
Girlfriends, as I think back at this situation that took place over twelve years ago, I think of what that mom was facing, as well as those two little girls. Yes, that mom was me and those were my two sweet little girls who was faced with a difficult decision . Maybe this mom didn't handle the situation like some of you would have, but at the time I wanted to let my two girls to have a part in making their own decision about this move, without them feeling like they were being forced to move.
We had many talks about everything involved, that it was a big decision, it was a big move, but it was all discussed with much love in the mix. The girls knew that there would be visits back and forth on holidays and school vacations, they would be able to see their family and friends each visit coming back home, there would be phone calls and video chats.
I don't know what you were faced with as a small child or even as an adult, but I am here to say that even as adults may have disappointed you or maybe not have done things in the right way, you are loved, you are loved by myself and you are loved by your heavenly Father. There may be others who will let us down and even abandon us, even some of our closest and best friends as well as family members, but God will not. Psalm 27:10 says, "For if my father and mother should abandon me, You would welcome and comfort me." From my experience, God has always been with me and He has never let me down, He has always been by my side to comfort me in difficult times, He has given me strength when I have felt too weak to go on. Psalm 37:28 says, "For the Lord loves justice and fairness; He will never abandon His people." Who are God's people you might ask, it's the ones who is serving Him, living for Him, honoring Him and loving Him.
Always remember girlfriends, that God is watching, He sees what is going on in our lives, Psalm 121:5 says, "The LORD watches over you." Remember this scripture that tells us in Psalm 32:8, "I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress." We must always hold on to God, we cannot give up or let go of Him. He will never let us down or let go of us, as Psalm 63:8 says," My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me."
Let this be a new day that you let everything go that has happened in the past, and move on to the wonderful things that God alone has in store for your future. God never fails, Joshua 21:45, and He only has good things in store for your future, Jeremiah 29:11.
Let's Pray,
Father God, I lift up the name of Jesus, the one who is above every other name. Lord, you are holy and I thank you for giving us another day to worship and call upon your name. Lord, I lift up every sweet soul that has ever felt like they have been abandoned, and I break off that spirit of abandonment in the Mighty name of Jesus, as well as disappointment in Jesus mighty name. Lord surround them, each and every one today with your presence, and fill them with an overwhelming love from yourself that they cannot deny that a change has taken place within each and every one of them. Lord, I declare that you have amazing plans for each and every one of these people, and that you are healing other places in their heart today, at this very moment, because you are the God who goes up and above and you do all things well, as we thank you in the Mighty name of Jesus for your anointing and your love, Amen.
Be blessed sweet girlfriends, and pass the blessings on. Thank you for passing this message on, in hopes that it will bless others.
