For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when i was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:13-16 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
One evening many years ago, I was getting the bath water ready for one of my children to have the bubble bath they were so looking forward to. As I was sitting on the side of the tub having a conversation about all the deep things of the world I'm sure, my five year old came out with a statement that "blew me for a loop." As to my shock she blurted out these words, "I wish I was skinny like you and not fat." You can just imagine how my mouth would have been gaped open with a stunned look upon my face, as I wondered where in the world did this thought come from.
I quickly interjected to let that sweet, beautiful little girl that was sitting in a tub of bubbles, know that she was not who she thought she was. With her sweet little face looking up at me I made sure that she knew that she was not "fat" in any way, she was just made different than I was, that we are all made up in different ways with different attributes from each side of the mother and father's jeans. I continued to point out her sweet bubbly personality that always shined with a smile, and her beautiful long hair that curled right at the tips.
At the time I did not know where that thought had come from, or if someone may have said something at school, being at a tender age of five, but sometimes that can be all it will take for the mind to get wandering.
Girlfriends, we are the same way as a child sometimes, we are our own worst critics at times, not liking the way we look. How many times have you heard women say their hips are too big, or their nose is too big or how they don't like their feet, I've heard that one quite often, or they don't like the color of their hair. God made each one of us just the way He wanted us, we are handcrafted by His hands. Yes women all over the world make minor changes at times by changing their hair color, exercising to shed a few pounds, have their nails done by a professional if they have a hard time letting theirs grow, but what about if you come to the conclusion that you do not like who you are on the inside?
This is a more serious conclusion that may need a deeper look. If a person looks at themselves and sees that their attitude isn't the greatest, they snap quickly at other people, they are filled with anger and resentment towards someone, they tend to speak out in the negative instead of speaking with kind gentle words, then this is an issue that does need to be looked at in order to make some changes.
God's word says that He can change your sorrow in to joy, (Jeremiah 31:13, John 16:16,20 and Lam. 1,3) if we would like to speak in a kinder, and more gentle way we can do that too, it all starts with repentance. When we call out to God and ask Him for forgiveness and ask Him to help us in each of these areas so that we do not stay in the same place we have found ourselves in.
When we want to change our hair color, we go to the hairdresser and tell her what we want, it's the same way when we find ourselves angry from inside hurt, we call out to Jesus to help fix us on the inside. God is not going to be upset with us for feeling certain ways, but when we notice it ourselves and we do not like it, then we are headed in the right direction in order to make that change happen.
Girlfriends, you are special to God, and He wants you to shine to your full capacity, so why not surrender all of the inside hurts, the inside anger, the inside disappointments, the inside frustrations, and let the healing Jesus come in and do a little surgery so that you come out shining as the true and special person that you truly are.
Let's Pray,
Father God, I want to thank You and praise You for who You are, and I thank You for who You created me to be. Lord, I want to lift up each dear, sweet, special person to You today who may be in the need of a little tweaking in order so that they can shine to their full potential. Lord, I speak a supernatural healing over all of those hurt places in Jesus mighty name. I speak to the hurt and pain that the love of Jesus has made You whole. The devil is a liar and he is defeated in Jesus name. You are who God says you are and that is special, you are loved, you are redeemed by the blood of the lamb. So walk in your freedom of who God says you are in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
Be blessed and pass the blessings on.
