Jesus called out, "Come along with me and I will show you how to fish for the souls of men!" Matthew 4:19 The Living Bible
Good Morning Girlfriends:
We use this phrase quite often when we say, "You never know what each day will hold," and isn't that the truth. As I was talking to a gentleman back a couple of winters ago, he shared with me what had taken place this blustery, stormy winter day when no living being should have been out on the roads.
This day the weather report was that high winds would be blowing with freezing rain and a crazy amount of snow to be deposited throughout the day. For some strange reason, this man had said that he found himself on the back road that was very dangerous to travel, when snow and high winds blew, anyone who travels this road did not know whether they would make it or not, as it was the only short cut that took them to the closest town quickly.
With very little visibility, this man found that he was following a vehicle in front of him which he could barely see, and right before his eyes he watched them get into a snow drift that pulled right into the field. He described the way it had felt for him, that was a force that had taken him right into the same field and stopped right beside the vehicle he had been following. Climbing out his window, because the snow was so deep, his door would not open, he waded over to the other vehicle to see if the passengers were okay.
As the passenger window was rolling down, he could see that the woman behind that window was in strong labor, as she confirmed him and asked him if he knew how to deliver a baby. Looking at this young couple he knew there wasn't much time, as he waded back to his vehicle to get a shovel, because he was going to have to shovel a path quickly to get her from the front seat to the back seat. The gentleman that was sharing his story continued as he had reassured the young couple everything would be okay and he would do the best that he could. He shared with them that he had delivered pigs and calf's before, as well as helping with the delivery of one of his children, he reassured her that she would be okay.
Lifting the "mama to be" to the back seat, the "father to be" had to stand behind this man who had come to the rescue, with a blanket that was draped over both them and the car so that the freezing rain and snow would not come in on the woman. During all of the frantic scurrying, a tractor had come by to scoop out a path for the ambulance to come in order to take the couple to the hospital, and just as the ambulance was coming onto the scene, a beautiful, healthy little baby boy was born to this newly married couple. Before the mother was carried onto the gurney, she shared that the baby would be named "Benjamin Max," which later while this man was sharing the story, he mentioned that those two names had a spiritual meaning to him and he felt very blessed to be able to help this young family. TRUE STORY!
Girlfriends, as I share this story, I could not even imagine what that would have been like, but as I shared the story I choked up because I could feel my adrenaline rising as it unfolded. We truly do not know what each day will entail, do we? We can say the words that we never know what each day will hold, we can make our plans for the day, but it is Jesus who may make a few changes along the way. Haven't you seen it time and time again. When we read Jeremiah 29:11, it tells us that the Lord knows the plans He has for us, they are plans for good and not for evil. This man that came to the rescue to this young couple, would have been a witness from the Lord. In a crazy frantic kind of way as he was trying to keep everyone calm, he found out that they were already believers of the Lord.
As I think about what this couple had went through, as I'm sure they have shared their story with others, this testimony would go out to show how God does work in mysterious ways, Luke 24:16, and that God is real, why, because the man who shared this with me had said that anyone in that area knows the condition of this particular road, and no one would travel it in such stormy conditions, but this man shared that he was led to be on this road at this particular time, and now we know the reason why.
In our key verse, Matthew 4:19 Jesus had spoke to the disciples and told them to follow Him and He would show them how to fish for the souls of men, what a great way to start, is by sharing your testimony of what God has done for you. Girlfriends, each of us has a testimony, each of us has a story to tell of how Jesus helped us through a certain situation, why not share it with others, so that they will see that there truly is a God who loves, who saves, who redeems, who rescues those who are hurting, lost and drowning. All the glory goes back to Jesus for what He has done in each of our lives. Jesus saved me from a life that was going around and around and going nowhere.
Jesus loves us girlfriends, no matter what our story is, what we have done in our past, Jesus forgives us from our past when we call out to Him in repentance. I was once one of those lost souls who was lost in the world doing her own thing, until that day when I called upon the name of Jesus to rescue me. That is when my life took a wonderful change for the good and everything turned around as i became one of Jesus' followers who went out to fish for more souls who were just like me. God can use anyone, who is willing and will surrender their life to Him, He can use you too, Amen? Who wants to be a fisher of men? (Souls)
Let's Pray,
Father God, I thank you and I praise you that you would give me the opportunity to be used for your glory, to reach out to help other souls that were just like me who was lost. Lord, I thank you for each dear soul who reads this, I pray that they would come to you with a surrendered heart, so that they too could feel the love of the Father and what it means to be be truly saved, truly forgiven, to be truly set free from their past. I was once a lost soul and now I am found and I thank you Lord that you heard my cry for help as you reached down your loving arm and rescued me. I speak to that lost soul out there, may the most important and wonderful decision for your life that you could ever make for your life, in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed sweet girlfriends and pass the blessings on. Thank you for passing this message on so that it will be a blessing to others.
